Slamming West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for raising questions over eight-phase assembly elections, State BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Saturday stated it was required due to the “political violence unleashed by the ruling TMC”, and asserted that his celebration will guarantee a single-phase poll if voted to energy.
He additionally vowed to make the State free from violence and terror if the BJP comes to energy.
“The eight-phase poll in the State is to ensure a free and fair election. Political violence unleashed by the TMC is rampant in the State,” Mr Ghosh stated throughout a ‘chai pe charcha’ (dialogue over tea) session.
The BJP MP stated it will likely be a matter of delight if the polls are carried out in a single-phase.

Ms Banerjee on Friday questioned the choice of the Election Commission of India to conduct the assembly polls in Bengal in eight phases and suspected that the dates had been introduced as per the solutions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for higher administration of the BJP’s poll marketing campaign.
She stated the poll panel mustn’t take a look at the State “through the eyes of the saffron camp” — a reference to the BJP.

Reacting to Mr Ghosh’s assertion, Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy questioned if a political celebration can decide on holding election.

Meanwhile, a piece of BJP supporters alleged that the celebration’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ was stopped by police on the Baguihati space in Kolkata on Saturday morning.
The saffron celebration activists blocked VIP street, a significant thoroughfare in the north-eastern a part of town, for a number of hours, protesting towards the police motion.
A senior officer of the Baguihati police station claimed that there was no permission for the programme.
The ‘Parivartan Yatra’ was launched as a part of the saffron celebration’s outreach programme forward of the meeting polls.
