Somanna’s assertion about sanction of 17,000 houses for Bhalki constituency in Bidar below housing schemes of the State authorities and allocation of 43% of houses to “bogus beneficiaries” sparked off heated arguments between the Minister and Congress member Eshwar Khandre, who represents the constituency.

Mr. Somanna stated the Siddaramaiah-led authorities had determined to assemble 18 lakh houses within the State with an estimate of ₹35,800 crore. But the Congress authorities launched solely ₹10,000 crore and there was scarcity of funds over ₹20,000 crore.
The former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took exception to Mr. Somanna’s assertion and stated greater than three lakh houses have been constructed in the course of the Congress regime yearly as towards simply two lakh houses over the last two years of the BJP authorities.
