DMK president M.{K}. Stalin on Sunday stated that although former RBI Governor C. Rangarajan, appointed to evaluate the economic system of the State within the wake of the pandemic, had submitted his report, the federal government had not taken any efforts to implement it.

“Mr. Rangarajan had recommended the lifting of the lockdown to revive the economy. But the AIADMK government has not created any favourable condition for its [complete] lifting. This has resulted in the stagnation and loss of employment,” he stated.
Accusing Chief Minister Edappadi {K}. Palaniswami of diverting individuals’s consideration from the issues, by citing MOUs signed with industrial homes, Mr. Stalin stated the Chief Minister ought to realise there isn’t a magic wand to revive the economic system.
“The government should generate employment in rural areas and create a special scheme for urban residents, without any delay,” he stated.
Arumughaswamy panel
In a separate assertion, Mr. Stalin stated the AIADMK authorities had constituted the Justice (retd.) Arumughaswamy Commission, to probe former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s hospitalisation and dying, solely as an “eyewash”.
