Stubble burning: Pusa bio-decomposer profitable; will tell Supreme Court, says Kejriwal

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday mentioned “Pusa bio-decomposer” was profitable in Delhi and the town authorities will inform the Supreme Court that it’s an efficient method to forestall stubble burning.

Delhi has discovered an answer to the issue of crop residue burning and “no State can now make any excuse”, he instructed reporters in Hiranki village in North Delhi.

Pusa bio-decomposer is an answer developed by the scientists on the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, which may flip crop residue into manure in 15 to twenty days and due to this fact, can forestall stubble burning.

The ‘Pusa bio-decomposer’ was sprayed freed from value in non-basmati rice fields in Hiranki village in Narela.

“We are going to tell the Supreme Court, too, that it is an effective way to prevent stubble burning,” he mentioned.

“The people of Delhi and the Pusa institute have found a cost-effective solution to the problem of stubble burning. I hope this is the last year that we are tolerating it (pollution due to farm fires). Now States cannot make any excuse,” Mr Kejriwal mentioned.

He mentioned he had earlier talked to Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar over the cellphone concerning the Pusa bio-decomposer.

“He (Javadekar) said it will be used in other States the next time if the experiment was successful in Delhi,” the chief minister mentioned.

On Sunday, the share of stubble burning in Delhi’s air pollution rose to 40%, the utmost thus far this season, in accordance with a central authorities company.
