Submit details of health coverage, HC tells govt.
The High Court of Karnataka on Monday requested the State authorities to submit details of its health coverage, if any, as a litigant has sought a path to the federal government to offer hospital facility in all gram panchayats within the State.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Suraj Govindaraj issued the path whereas listening to the petition filed by Gurunath Vadde, a resident of Aurad in Bidar district.
Though the plea of the petitioner to have a hospital in each gram panchayat is probably not a correct method, the courtroom noticed that it’s the obligation of the State to offer correct healthcare amenities even in rural areas in view of proper to health assured beneath the Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
Apart from proper to health assured beneath the Constitution, it’s related to deliberate on the necessity of offering correct health facility in rural and distant areas of the State within the current context as COVID-19 has not unfold to many rural areas, the Bench stated, in its order whereas adjourning additional listening to.
