Tablet PCs, smart classes to bridge digital divide in degree colleges in Karnataka

To bridge the digital divide in degree colleges through the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Wednesday rolled out the distribution of pill PCs and began formation of two,500 smart classes throughout Karnataka.
The pill PCs will likely be distributed amongst round 1.55 lakh college students at a price of ₹163 crore. The creation of two,500 smart school rooms will price ₹27.77 crore, and improvement of a Learning Management System (LMS) will price ₹4.04 crore.
The Chief Minister stated that these initiatives are geared toward benefiting college students belonging to economically weaker sections of society who pursue their research in authorities establishments.
In a press launch, the Higher Education Department has stated that the pill PCs will likely be distributed to first-year college students of 430 authorities first grade colleges, 1st and 2nd-year college students of 87 authorities polytechnics, and 1st, 2nd, and Third-year college students of 14 engineering colleges.
According to the Chief Minister, 2,500 classes have been transformed to smart school rooms by equipping them with projector, whiteboard, Android field, UPS, and the web to facilitate the utilization of recent instructing and studying fashions. Deputy Chief Minister C.N.
