Terrorist holed up inside mosque in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian after overnight gunfight

At least one terrorist is believed to have taken refuge in a mosque in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian on Friday, after an overnight encounter with safety forces, at the same time as two ultras had been gunned down in Pulwama district’s Tral area.
The encounter in Shopian city broke out on Thursday night and has now became a stand-off, police mentioned, including three militants had been killed and 4 safety forces personnel injured.
“Brother of holed up #terrorist & local Imamsahab sent inside mosque to persuade the #terrorists to come out & #surrender. Efforts are on to save the mosque,” the police mentioned in a tweet.
In an earlier tweet, the police had mentioned that the chief of terror outfit Ansar Ghazwatul Hind was amongst these trapped.
“Chief of proscribed #terrorist outfit AGuH (JeM) trapped,” it learn.
In a separate encounter in Tral space of Pulwama on Friday morning, two unidentified militants had been gunned down by safety personnel, the police added.
