Trinamool Congress MP Sisir Adhikari was present at a public assembly addressed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday.
Mr. Sisir Adhikari, who represents Kanthi Lok Sabha constituency in Purba Medinipur district, mentioned that he was pushed towards the BJP by the Trinamool Congress. “There is no question of having any ties with the TMC,” he mentioned.
Mr. Sisir Adhikari’s son Suvendu Adhikari joined the BJP in December and is contesting in opposition to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram Assembly seat within the district.
“It is battle for the prestige of Medinipur.. Whatever Suvendu is saying will turn true….Suvendu will win Nandigram,” Mr. Sisir Adhikari mentioned.
At Mr. Shah’s rally, Mr. Sisir Adhikari raised the slogan ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. He mentioned that he had joined the BJP the very day Mr. Suvendu Adhikari joined the social gathering.
