Two arrested, redsanders logs seized
The sleuths of the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) arrested two individuals on cost of smuggling the dear logs throughout a combing operation within the KVB Puram reserve forest in Chittoor district on Thursday and seized country-made rifles from their possession.
The combing operation was undertaken within the hilly terrains abutting Tamil Nadu following the directions from Anantapur Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kanthi Rana Tata.
Teams led by Circle Inspector Venkata Ravi, Reserve Inspector Krupanand and Forest Range Officer Prasad had been conducting the combing operations within the thick forest for the final three days.
On Thursday, the combing occasion got here throughout some individuals carrying chopped pink sanders logs on their shoulders within the Theerthalakona space.
“Seeing the police, the group dumped the logs and fled. However, two members of the group were nabbed after a chase,” Deputy Superintendent of Police (RSASTF) Muralidhar instructed the media in Tirupati.
The accused have been recognized as A. Anjaneyulu (50) from Sadasivapuram and Satravada Krishnaiah of S.L. Puram. The police have registered a case and investigation is on.
