Two held in Manipur for throwing grenade at Raj Bhavan

Police say the plan was to sabotage official capabilities on Republic Day.
The Manipur police on January 25 claimed that with the arrest of two individuals, the case of hurling a China-made hand grenade at the Raj Bhavan gate on January 19 has been solved. Inspector-General of Police K. Jayantakumar stated the plan was to sabotage the official capabilities on Republic Day.
Talking to reporters, law enforcement officials stated a Special Investigation Team was set as much as probe the incident. The crew members raided a home at Khongman in Imphal east district on January 24 and arrested Lisam Ibosana (51). Police stated he “confessed” to the crime. Some incriminating supplies had been recovered from his home.
During interrogation, he disclosed the title of his confederate, Konsam Manithoi (56). One automobile and a few two wheelers and three cellular handsets had been recovered. No explosives have been recovered from them up to now.
