UoM to get its own community radio station

On the event of World Radio Day, the emblem of the community radio station – Radio Manasa – was unveiled on the Vignana Bhavan right here on Saturday.
Vice-Chancellor G. Hemantha Kumar, who launched the emblem of Radio Manasa, stated the University was awaiting a clearance from the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for formally launching the actions of the community radio station. Today being the World Radio Day, the emblem was launched to mark the event.
Besides the I and B Ministry, the radio station additionally wanted clearances from the Ministry of Telecommunications, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and the University hoped to get the nod quickly. The strategy of launching the station was began three years in the past, and the University is inching nearer to make it a actuality.
The title saved for the community radio station was chosen because the campus is named Manasagangotri.
