The Uttar Pradesh authorities will allow the annual Kanwar yatra within the state from July 25 and officers have been requested to coordinate with neighbouring states to guarantee Covid tips are adopted, a senior official mentioned on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

Uttarakhand has cancelled the yatra this year citing the pandemic.
According to Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary, Navneet Sehgal “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has requested to coordinate with neighbouring Bihar and Uttarakhand and guarantee Covid tips are following through the yatra:, Mr Sehgal mentioned that detailed tips concerning the Yatra will likely be issued quickly and a gathering of senior officers will likely be held to talk about the matter.
Uttrakhand has appealed to officers of neighbouring states to ask devotees not to come to Haridwar this month for the annual pilgrimage to gather water from the Ganga.
The Kanwar yatra was not held in Uttar Pradesh final year due to Covid restrictions.
