They had been protesting in opposition to M.P. land allotment to RSS affiliate
The Madhya Pradesh authorities’s choice to allot land in an industrial property to an RSS affiliate related to small industries prompted the Opposition, the Congress, to stage a protest led by senior chief Digvijaya Singh right here on Sunday whereby the police used water cannons.
The incident occurred when Mr. Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP, and different Congress workers had been making an attempt to climb a barricade through the protest held at Govindpura industrial space, cops stated.
The police has filed a case in opposition to Mr. Singh and eight different Congress leaders together with 200 workers for organising a protest with out prior permission and violating COVID-19 guidelines. “The police used water cannons but we will continue to fight against the land allotment. The water got into my ears,” Mr. Singh advised reporters.
He alleged Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had given this land price crores to the Laghu and Madhyam Udyog Bharti on the fee of ₹1 regardless of opposition from the Industrial Association.
“This is the only park where workers take their lunch and rest,” Mr. Singh stated.
